The first draft of “6 Blocks Home”

I hit a new milestone today, folks. I finished the first draft of my very first novel.

It’s a coming-of-age story that’s been rolling around in my brain for a long time, and I felt like it wasn’t going to leave me alone until I wrote it down. I’m usually more drawn to screenwriting, but this is a story of the heart that I knew I would have a hard time making cinematic. The story just seemed more at home in a novel.

I have to confess that I’m a little nervous about stepping into a new medium for the first time, and I know I have a lot of work yet to do with editing and all that jazz. Still, I feel like this is a milestone worth celebrating. So celebrate with me!
