The Bully

An excerpt from “6 Blocks Home”

That bully, Jason the Meathead, had backed Sam up to a dumpster, his grubby fingers digging into her upper arms. He towered over her. She tried to push him away. It was like watching a mouse try to move a mountain. Jason shoved Sam against the dumpster, and the impact made a hollow metallic boom.

Tobias couldn’t breathe, couldn’t think, couldn’t make his feet move. Jason leaned close to whisper something in Sam’s ear.

Her whimper jolted Tobias into action.
